This Poem was wrote in memory of Mr. Butler:
He was hired as the janitor,
it was really just his diguise.
He did his job so well, sometimes
even more than he was required,
It wasn't required that
he made the children smile.
And to make them laugh
he would go that extra mile.
When vacuuming the halls
to the kids it became a game.
"Don't run over our feet",
laughingly they would proclaim.
Sometimes from around a corner,
he would jump out to scare,
and Oh, how they would
laugh, just to see him there.
"Give me your shoes",
sometimes he would say,
"No, give me yours!"
the kids would answer in play.
He was never too busy
to give a hug
or a pat on the head.
Or to listen to a child tell how many
books that they had read.
He was hired as a janitor,
a job he did so well until the end.
But so much more than that,
Mr. Butler was a friend!
