Thank You for the Trials
Lord, I thank you for your blessings that come to me each day.
And I thank you for the friends that I have along the way.
Lord you have been so good and given me so much.
You’ve kept me and blessed me and I have felt your touch.
But today I want to thank you,
for the things I don’t always thank you for.
For they are things that I don’t want, to see come unto my door.
I thank you for the trials and the grace to see me through.
For I know that through these trials, I am brought closer unto you.
For I wouldn’t know of your healing, if I had never knew pain.
I wouldn’t enjoy the sunshine, if I hadn’t seen the rain.
I wouldn’t know of your comfort in times of trouble,
if sorrow I had not felt.
I wouldn’t know of your peace,
but for times when fear my heart would melt.
For these trials, although not pleasant,
will draw me closer unto you,
If only I look up to you, Lord, for the grace to see me through.
So, Lord, I thank you for the trials, though many they may be,
for they may be things the very things,
that keep me humble before Thee.
